Kindred Vanguard: Youth Initiative through Church

We are Kindred Vanguard army.
Welcome to Kindred Vanguard community, a youth initiative devoted to bringing hope, healing, and justice to those impacted by war, persecution, and poverty—especially our Afghan neighbors here in Houston. We are a movement of young people who believe that faith without action is incomplete, and that compassion has the power to change lives.
Rooted in our church community, Kindred Vanguard is led by youth and supported by mentors who believe in the call to love our neighbors, speak out against violence, and serve the marginalized. Our mission is to raise awareness, provide tangible support, and advocate for peace—all while developing the next generation of compassionate leaders.
From Splash Days for refugee children to school supply drives, storytelling through books, Hijab Days and peace education workshops, every Kindred Vanguard activity is an opportunity to live out the teachings of Christ in meaningful and impactful ways. Whether it’s creating care packages or speaking up against the consequences of war, we believe youth can lead the way.
We stand especially with refugee families in Houston—children who have survived conflict and displacement, and who now need friendship, support, and belonging. But our heart extends further, toward all war-affected communities longing for peace and restoration.
Whether you’re a student, parent, pastor, educator, or simply someone who cares—you are welcome here. Join us in this mission through volunteering, donating, partnering, or simply sharing our message.
